In our painting sessions, we work on our individual projects, sharing ideas and techniques as we work in our media of choice. Members work in various media, namely oil, acrylic, watercolour, pen & ink, gouache, pastel, pencil and collage.
Our workshops are varied and include lessons in drawing, watercolour, acrylic, oil techniques and principles of design; they are given by professional artists and skilled members of our club.
During July and August, we hold ’plein air’ painting sessions in various locations. All members are welcome to join in.
Whatever your level of skill, we are sure that involvement in the Garibaldi Art Club would inspire you and enhance your creativity.

| | Meetings Monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (September to November and January to May) at 7 pm in the Craft Studio, on the third floor at the ACT (the Maple Ridge Arts Centre). In June and December, club dinners take the place of the monthly meeting. These are a nice way for members to get together and socialize. There are no meetings during the summer (July and August) however members get together to paint "en plein air" outside at members’ homes or on location.

| | History The Garibaldi Art Club of Maple Ridge is an artists’ group whose purpose is to foster the growth and development of its members’ creativity and in turn, share it with our community. The club is made up of men and women, beginners to advanced, from the Sunday painter to the full-time artist, and includes work of all painterly media.
Our club came into existence in 1959 as the Garibaldi Art Workshop. It started with a handful of amateur artists who met in the Albion Hall to paint. Other interested people joined and, for a number of years, weekly painting sessions were held in the Art Room of the Maple Ridge High School, courtesy of the local School Board. As of April 1, 2003, the weekly painting sessions and meetings are held at A.C.T. (the new Maple Ridge Arts Centre). The Garibaldi Art Club of Maple Ridge is one of the longest running art organization in Maple Ridge.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council. The Garibaldi Art Club has worked with the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council for many years, endeavouring to bring awareness and enjoyment of visual arts to our community as well as providing opportunities for local artists to learn and grow in their chosen media.
