ABOUT THE GAC

The Garibaldi Art Club of Maple Ridge has been in existence since 1959. We provide our members with opportunities to learn and grow as artists, and to share their work with the community. Most importantly, members meet other artists and make lifelong friends.
Our members range from beginners to professional artists. Artists of all skill levels are welcome and find that involvement in our club inspires them and enhances their skills and creativity. Club activities include monthly meetings, painting sessions, workshops, and art exhibitions. We are located in the heart of Maple Ridge, at the ACT Arts Centre and Theatre. Our meetings and most activities take place on the 3rd floor at the ACT, and our exhibitions take place in a variety of locations. |

Our activities are varied and provide something for everyone:
• Monthly business meetings. • Get-togethers to paint several times per month. • Interesting workshops to learn new techniques and skills. • Opportunities to show paintings at juried and non-juried events. • Club dinners to socialize with other members. • Plein-air painting excursions in the summer. • Participation in the local Farmers’ Market and other events of special interest. |

In addition to learning from each other at painting sessions, or from taking workshops, our members learn about organization and the running of the club. By volunteering to help with our various functions, members become well versed in all aspects of putting on exhibitions and other club functions.
If you are an artist, or a ‘want to be’ artist, come to a monthly meeting to meet us and obtain all the information you need about joining the Garibaldi Art Club. You can also do a one-time visit to one of our open art sessions, to meet some members and see what we do. You will be very welcome. MEMBERSHIP
All artists, from beginners to advanced, are welcome to join the Garibaldi Art Club.

Original painterly media accepted into our exhibitions include, but are not limited to: acrylic, oil, gouache, pastels, graphite, charcoal, coloured pencils, opwencil, water media, mixed media, collage (including photo-transfers), scratchboard, and original limited-edition hand-pulled prints including serigraphs, etchings, monoprints, lithographs, and colourgraphs.
NOTE: The following are NOT accepted: 3D works, digital paintings, photographs, giclees, (whether hand-modified or not), and mechanical reproductions. |
Membership Fees

$70 per year / $60 per year for seniors and students.
